STILLWATER, Okla. - Four members of the Texas A&M men's golf squad were named to the 2011 Division I PING All-Central Region team, the Golf Coaches Association of America announced.

Seniors Nacho Elvira and Conrad Shindler, junior Jordan Russell and sophomore Cameron Peck all represented the Aggies on this year's 26-member squad. They will be eligible to earn All-America honors, announced at a later date.

The honor is the third for Elvira (Santander, Spain) in his career. Only one player in school history--Bronson Burgoon--has more. Elvira, an All-Big 12 selection, has five top-10 finishes this year and ranks second on the team with a 72.1 average.

Shindler (Coppell) has posted a career-low average of 72.5 this season heading into this week's NCAA Championship. The All-Big 12 honoree has seven top-20 finishes under his belt, including a seventh-place showing at the Big 12 Championship.

Russell (College Station), an All-Big 12 pick, is on pace to break the school single-season scoring record, as he carries a 71.3 average into this week. He has 22 par-or-better rounds this season, nine top-20 finishes and seven top-5 showings. Russell shot a school-record round of 63 en route to being the top American at the Topy Cup of Japan this past fall.

Peck (Olympia, Wash.) has averaged a score of 72.5 this year, third best on the team, and has finished in the top 20 six times. He is coming off his best showing of the season at last week's NCAA Regional in Tucson, where he finished third overall and just missed a school record with his score of 6-under 207. Peck also fired a school-record round of 63, coming in the Husky Invitational in September.

Over the last six years, coach J.T. Higgins' players have earned 23 all-region and eight all-America honors.

Texas A&M is on the course this morning, continuing play in the NCAA Championships at Karsten Creek in Stillwater. Live scoring is available on ncaa.com and aggieathletics.com.
