TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Big 12 Champion Texas A&M baseball team continues its drive for Omaha, Neb., and the College World Series this weekend as it travels to Tallahassee, Fla., to face No. 5 national seed Florida State in a best-of-three Super Regional at Dick Howser Stadium.
Game times are set for 3:30 p.m. (CST) Saturday, 3 p.m. (CST) Sunday, and TBA Monday if necessary. Both Saturday and Sunday's game will be televised live on ESPNU while a potential match-up on Monday would be carried on ESPN2.
Texas A&M (45-19) advanced to the Super Regional round by defeating No. 22 Arizona on Tuesday to capture the NCAA College Station Regional title, while Florida State won three straight on its home field to claim the NCAA Tallahassee Regional crown.

TEXAS A&M-FLORIDA STATE SERIES
The Aggies and Seminoles have met just three times on the baseball diamond with Florida State holding a slim 2-1 edge in the series ... the first ever meeting between the schools came on May 23, 1986, during the NCAA South II Regional hosted by Florida State where the 'Noles handed the Aggies a 12-9 defeat at Dick Howser Stadium ... Texas A&M evened the series with a 9-1 win on Feb. 29, 1992, at the Metrodome in Minneapolis, Minn., during the Oscar Mayer Tournament ... the last meeting occurred during on June 12, 1999, during the College World series when FSU earned a 7-3 victory over A&M at Rosenblatt Stadium.

• This weekend marks the fifth Super Regional appearance for Texas A&M ... The Aggies are 61-59 all time in the postseason and 2-7 in NCAA Super Regional play.
• Texas A&M's pitching staff ranks fifth nationally with a 2.64 team ERA and features three players (John Stilson, Michael Wacha and Ross Stripling) in the top 56 nationally as individuals.
• The regular season Big 12 Championship, which the Aggies share with Texas, is the 23rd in school history and sixth in the Big 12 era ... A&M has claimed the Big 12 regular season title in 1998, 1999, 2008 and 2011, while nabbing the post season tournament championship in 2007 and 2010.
• During Big 12 play, the Aggies led the league in both hitting (.290 team batting average) and in team ERA (2.55).
• Texas A&M's team defense is much improved this season, ending the regular season with a .976 team fielding percentage - second in the Big 12 ... the Aggies cut down their errors by 31 miscues from 84 during the 2010 regular season (56 games) to 53 this regular season (56 games). In the postseason, A&M has continued its impressive defense and committed only one error during the NCAA College Station Regional (.993 team fielding percentage)
PLAYER NOTES AND NOTABLES: PITCHING
• Junior pitcher Ross Stripling recently saw a stretch of seven straight winning starts snapped ... His stretch that began on April 10 at Texas Tech and ended with a no-decision on May 28 against Kansas State in the Big 12 tournament ... Stripling is tied for first nationally with 13 victories this season.
• Stripling is the first Aggie to notch 13 wins since Mark Thurmond accomplished the feat in 1978 ... The 13 victories rank him in a tie for third place on the all-time Texas A&M list, up next is Jeff Granger who notched 15 wins in 1993 ... The school record is 16 wins set by James Gibson in 1976.
• On June 2, Stripling was named a third team All-American by Collegiate Baseball.
• All three of the A&M weekend starters rank in the top five in the Big 12 in both strikeouts and innings pitched - Michael Wacha 110 K's in 115.2 innings, Ross Stripling 99 K's in 110.2 innings and John Stilson 92 K's in 91.1 innings.
• Senior Jose Duran in 2008 and Jason Tyner in 1998) to win Big 12 Player of the Year honors after leading the Big 12 with a 392 average and a 404 clip during league play.
• On June 2, Naquin was named a second team Louisville Slugger All-American by Collegiate Baseball.
• In addition to leading the league in hitting, Naquin ranks first in the Big 12 this season in hits (89) and runs scored (58) while ranking third in triples (6), sixth in doubles (17), fifth in total bases (124), fifth in on base percentage (449) and sixth in slugging percentage (528).
• Shortstop Kenny Jackson and first baseman Jacob House are the only two Aggies to have started and played every game at their position.
• Freshman Krey Braysen ranks second in the Big 12 with 29 steals this season and swiped a league-high 15 bags against Big 12 competition ... his 29 swipes rank him in a tie for seventh in single season team history with former A&M shortstop and current major leaguer Cliff Pennington.
• On June 8, Bratsen was named a Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American by Collegiate Baseball.
• Senior Andrew Collazo has provided a spark for the A&M line-up starting the last 15 games at second base ... the Paterson, NJ, native has a .317 batting average and .431 on-base percentage during that time with 11 walks, seven sacrifice hits and 16 runs scored ... additionally he's a perfect 10-for-10 on the base paths ... his walk-off home run in the bottom of the 10th during the title game of the Big 12 Championship clinched a second straight Big 12 Championship for the Aggies.
• Collazo is a perfect 18-for-18 on the base paths this season and has 30 steals the last two season since joining the Aggies from Howard College.
