CAIRO, Egypt - Alexis Klegou, an upcoming senior on the Texas A&M men's tennis team, has been named to Benin's Davis Cup tennis team this summer.

Klegou, originally from Dunkerque, France, won his first singles match against Madagascar's Antso Rakotondramango, 6-3, 6-2 at the Smash Tennis Academy in Cairo, Egypt, on the 4th of July.

His second singles match came against Mohamed Safwat of Egypt and Klegou dropped a 7-5, 6-2 decision.

Klegou helped the 2011 Aggie tennis team reached the Sweet 16 at the NCAA Championships. The athletic righthander won the clinching match at the Big 12 Championship Tournament against Oklahoma and also posted the clinching victory against LSU in the NCAA second round match.  The Aggie tennis team finished the year ranked No. 10 in the final rankings.

Klegou posted a 2011 spring dual match record of 21-2 overall and was crowned the Big 12 Champion at the No. 4 singles line. He was 13-0 at the No. 4 line. He ended the spring with a 15-match winning streak.
