SHANGHAI --- Texas A&M divers Grant Nel and Eric Sehn shined on the first weekend of the FINA World Championships at the Oriental Sports Center.

Representing Australia at the World Championships, Nel, a senior-to-be from Melbourne, Victoria, took 19th of 39 entries in the one-meter springboard with a score of 340.85. His six-dive list produced scores of 49.5, 49.5, 64.5, 66.65, 58.50 and 52.20.

Representing Canada, Sehn, from Edmonton, Alberta, teamed with countryman Kevin Geyson to place eighth in the 10-meter synchro platform dive with a score of 386.70. Sehn, who finished his A&M eligibility in 2009, and Geyson produced scores of 49.8, 48.0, 78.72, 73.92, 57.42 and 78.84.

Next up for Nel is the three-meter springboard competition on Thursday, July 21, while Sehn returns to action in the 10-meter platform on Saturday, July 23.
