IRVING, Texas - ESPN and the Big 12 Conference have released the "Big Monday" portion of its men's college basketball schedule for the 2012 season, and Texas A&M will make three appearances, it was announced Thursday.
The Aggies' first appearance will be as part of a Martin Luther King Jr. Day doubleheader on Jan. 16, when A&M will battle Missouri at Mizzou Arena in Columbia at 4:30 p.m. (CT).
One week later (Jan. 23), the Aggies will make the trek to Lawrence and Allen Fieldhouse to face the Kansas Jayhawks. Tip time is set for 8 p.m. (CT).
For the fourth straight season and fifth time in the last six years, Texas A&M and Reed Arena will play host to a Big Monday game. The Aggies will face Texas as part of ESPN's "Rivalry Week" on Feb. 6 at 8 p.m. (CT).
Texas A&M's entire 2011-12 schedule will be available in the coming weeks.
The Aggies return three starters and 10 letterwinners from a team that finished 24-9 overall, tied for third place in the Big 12 with a 10-6 mark and advanced to the NCAA Tournament for a school-record sixth consecutive season. A&M opens practice next week for a 10-day European Tour, with stops in Switzerland and France, which begins Aug. 8.
