All-American Wins Maryland Adult Medal Finals

Texas A&M junior All-American Emily Williams won the Maryland Adult Hunt Seat Medal Finals over the weekend at the Bay State Classic outside Baltimore.

OWINGS MILLS, Md.--Texas A&M junior All-American Emily Williams (Woodbine, Md.) won the Maryland Adult Hunt Seat Medal Finals over the weekend at the Bay State Classic outside Baltimore.

Williams rode her horse, Valesca, to best a 23-rider field from the tri-state area (Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania). She had to finish in the top-30 of the season's MHSA adult standings to qualify for the event, which featured a three-test competition of fences, flat and a final test.

The daughter of Dale and Kim Williams, Emily is coming off one of the best seasons in school history. She set multiple Aggie records en route to a 14-3 record and a team MVP award, helping A&M to the program's first Big 12 Championship.

Williams and the Aggies open the 2011-12 season with the annual Maroon and White Scrimmage on Saturday, Sept. 17 at the Brazos County Expo Complex in Bryan.
