Aggie Football Reports for Fall Camp

The No. 9-ranked Texas A&M football team reported to campus on Monday and will begin preparations for the 2011 season at a 6:30 p.m. workout on Tuesday.

COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The No. 9-ranked Texas A&M football team reported to campus on Monday and will begin preparations for the 2011 season at a 6:30 p.m. workout on Tuesday.

“Tonight we really couldn't talk about much football,” said fourth-year head coach Mike Sherman said after a full-team meeting at the Hagner Auditorium in the Bright Football Complex. “Tonight was pretty much about rules and regulations and what they can not do. Tomorrow we'll talk about what they can do. Tomorrow night will be more fun.”

The Aggies enter the 2011 season with a preseason ranking of No. 9 in the USA Today Top 25 coaches poll, which is the program's highest preseason ranking since 1999.

“It's nice to have that kind of attention put on our program, but you've got to live up to those expectations and we have a lot of work to do to be at that level,” Sherman said. “Nothing is going to be handed to us. We've got to work hard, harder than everyone else. Every team we play has good players and good coaches. Something has to make the difference, and be our X-factor. We have to have something different. Everybody's working hard and has same expectations when they start the season. Hopefully we'll have something that separates us and helps us win football games.”
