Soccer 'Stuffs the Bus' with Junior League of B-CS

The Texas A&M soccer team will volunteer tomorrow at the second-annual Stuff the Bus School Supply Drive at HEB Towerpoint, put on by the Junior League of Bryan-College Station.

COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The Texas A&M soccer team will volunteer tomorrow at the second-annual Stuff the Bus School Supply Drive at HEB Towerpoint, put on by the Junior League of Bryan-College Station.

"Being good citizens and upstanding members of this community have always been important lessons we try to reinforce with our Aggie soccer players," head coach G Guerrieri said. "The 'Stuff the Bus' event is a great opportunity to be supportive of the Junior League and thousands of school-aged kids in the Brazos Valley."

The charity event will take place from 5:30 a.m.-7:30 p.m. Those wishing to help the cause are invited to bring school supplies to the HEB on William D. Fitch Pkwy in College Station or to the Brazos Center on Briarcrest Dr. in Bryan. Monetary donations are also accepted on the Junior League of B-CS web site, or through point-of-purchase cash donations at local HEB stores until Aug. 31.

All proceeds and school supplies will be donated to local school children. The Junior League has distributed supplies to over 100,000 students since the project's inauguration in 2000. To learn more about the event, visit jlbcs.org.

Aggie soccer participates in several community service projects each year, including Stuff the Bus, Hard Hats for Little Heads, Aggies CAN, and many others. The team received its third straight Aggie Cup trophy in the spring, largely signifying soccer's involvement in the community.

The reigning Big 12 Champion A&M soccer team will kick off the 2011 season at home against Fresno State at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, August 19. For more information on Aggie soccer, log on to AggieAthletics.com.
