COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The Texas A&M softball team's Oct. 9 double-header against the USA National Team highlights the Aggies' fall schedule, announced today.
The Aggies will face off against the National Team at the University of Houston's Cougar Field on Sunday, Oct. 9. The double-header is set for a 12 p.m. start. Both games will be broadcast on 95.1-3 The Zone HD. The Cougars will follow with a contest at their home field against USA Softball on Tuesday evening, Oct. 11, at 7 p.m.
"We are looking forward to competing against the National Team this fall," head coach Jo Evans said. "It gives us the opportunity to see how our team measures up against some of the best talent in the country. It should be a very competitive fall season for our ball club."Â
Tickets for each USA National Team event at Cougar Field are $10 and will go on sale tomorrow at 9 a.m. Fans can purchase tickets by cash or check in person at Absolute All Sports in Spring, Texas or by mailing a check and request including your name, address and phone number to Houston ASA in Cypress, Texas. The A&M softball team will play six other games to round out its fall schedule, beginning with a showdown against Blinn College on Sept. 27 at 6 p.m. at the Aggie Softball Complex.
The Aggies will travel to Spring, Texas, for the Spring Klein Girls Softball League (SKGSL) College Classic on Oct. 1. A&M is guaranteed two games against to-be-determined opponents.
The fall season will end with four home games. The Aggies play Temple at 6 p.m. on Oct. 5 and host Sam Houston State and North Texas in the Texas A&M Fall Invitational on Oct. 8. A&M will take on SHSU at 10 a.m. and follow with a game against North Texas at 12:15 p.m. The double-header vs. USA Softball will close out the Aggies' exhibition season.
