WACO - Led by an individual winning effort from C.J. Brown, the Texas A&M men won the Baylor Twilight on Thursday evening with 25 points over Baylor's tally of 40.
The rest of the men's field included Dallas Baptist (109), Incarnate Word (124) and Texas-Tyler (129) at the Heart of Texas Soccer Complex.
Meanwhile, the Aggie women placed third with 82 points running a youthful squad as they finished behind Baylor (17) and Texas State (75). Placing behind A&M were Dallas Baptist (111) and Incarnate Word (117).
Brown covered the men's 6,000-meter course in 18 minutes, 36.5 seconds and enjoyed a 14-second victory over the field. The Aggies then placed four runners among the first scoring five as Dylan Williams (18:59.2), Bobby Zeller (19:03.8) and Jordan Chappell (19:13.6) crossed the finish line in fifth, sixth and seventh place.
The next tandem of A&M runners finished 15th and 18th with the pair of Neil Longenbaugh (19:41.5) and Austin Geerts (19:48.3).
Grace Fletcher led the Aggie women by placing 12th in a time of 14:53.7 on the 4,000-meter course. A trio of A&M runners placed 19-20-21 with Sophie Blake (15:12.8), Margo Lyons (15:13.9) and Shawn Dalglish (15:14.0). Colbea Harris (15:17.7) was the fifth A&M runner to complete the team score, placing 23rd.
Also running for the men's squad were James Bonn (19:57.3, 24th), Micah Dettmer (20:04.6, 26th), George Stredny (20:11.5, 30th) and Ethan Doherty (20:46.2, 44th).
Gabby Salazar (15:24.0) and Kate Mohr (15:25.8) were the next pair of Aggie women to finish, placing 27th and 28th. The final group of A&M women included Kelsey Hermes (15:36.7, 31st), Johanna Galloway (15:40.8, 33rd), Heather Sterling (15:50.3, 36th) and Alex Perouty (16:02.8, 39th).
