After a one-year hiatus, the No. 20 Texas A&M women's golf team opens its fall season with the 17th Texas A&M "Mo"Morial Invitational Sunday through Tuesday at Traditions Golf Club in Bryan.

COLLEGE STATION, Texas - After a one-year hiatus, the No. 20 Texas A&M women's golf team opens its fall season with the 17th Texas A&M "Mo"Morial Invitational Sunday through Tuesday at Traditions Golf Club in Bryan.

The 11-team field will tee off at 8 a.m. Sunday and Monday and with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday. Admission is free. Live scoring is available at golfstat.com.

Competing with the nationally-ranked Aggies in the season-opening event is No. 18 Auburn, Coastal Carolina, Florida State, Kentucky, No. 19 Michigan State, North Texas, Oklahoma, No. 23 Texas, No. 24 Tulane and UTSA.

Representing Texas A&M will be 10 of 11 players on the roster. The Aggies will tee off beginning at 8:09 a.m. Sunday on hole No. 1.

Among Golf World's 50 players to watch that will compete at the "Mo'Morial are: A&M's sophomore Katerina Ruzickova, Coastal Carolina's Jessica Alexander, Michigan State's Caroline Powers, Tulane's Maribel Lopez Porras and Texas's Madison Pressel.

"Having our first tournament of the season in our back yard is a great way to start the year," A&M head coach Trelle McCombs said. "The players have been working very hard to prepare for this event and I think our lineup is solid top to bottom.

"Golf is unlike any other sport because you can literally be only 15 yards from a player hitting her shot," McCombs added. "Fans will be able to see nearly every player on our roster and I would encourage everyone to come out and watch these girls compete."

The "Mo"Morial had been played annually in the spring since 1992 before moving it to the fall schedule in 2009. Last season, the Aggies hosted one of the premier collegiate women's golf tournaments, The Fall Preview, in place of the "Mo"Morial.
