IRVING - Texas A&M's tandem of Katherine Devlin and James Hodges were selected as Big 12 Cross Country Runner of the Week, as each earned their first weekly award from the conference office.
In fact, Hodges is the first Aggie male to be honored in cross country since the 2008 season while Devlin is the first A&M female to be selected in cross country since 2006.
Devlin led the Aggie women to a team victory at the Baylor Invitational as she won her first race over a 4,000-meter course in 13:58. Texas A&M scored 18 points for the team title, which they claimed by 50 points over the runner-up squad.
Hodges, meanwhile, covered the men's 6,000-meter course on the Baylor intramural fields in 18:48, winning the race by six seconds to claim his first individual title. Â The Aggie men put together a perfect score of 15 points to capture the team crown by 36 points.
Texas A&M will resume cross country action on September 30 with a trip to South Bend, Indiana, for the Notre Dame Invitational.
