The Aggies (2-0), who swept all four disciplines, picked up wins by true freshmen Leah Chenelle over fences and Molli Jacobs in horsemanship. In addition, true freshman Haley Buchmiller posted a 78-point ride on the flat in her first career appearance in the maroon and white.
A&M set the tone early, opening up a strong six-point lead through the first half of the show. The horsemanship squad picked up wins from Jacobs and Kelsey Adams to compliment an MVP performance by junior Carey Nowacek-her second of the weekend. The fences riders then followed with a sweep of the Bulldogs (0-2), as Chenelle, Lia Chafee and Kori Pickett teamed up with MVP Emily Williams to make the score 7-1.
In reining, Abigail Grabein, Lindsey Bernbaum, Courtney Dawe and MVP Becca Murray recorded the Aggies' second sweep of the morning, while Maggie Earle scored A&M's lone point on the flat. With two ties on the flat, however, the Aggies bested Fresno in raw score-310 to 308-to claim that discipline as well.
The team victory was A&M's fifth in as many tries all-time against Fresno State.
Texas A&M returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 8 in the Aggies' home opener against Georgia. Show time is 11 a.m. (CT) at the Brazos County Expo Complex and admission is free.
