COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Texas A&M soccer freshmen Kelley Monogue and Annie Kunz recently received recognition on Our Game Magazine's College Players to Watch lists.
Kunz earned a spot on the list last week, while Monogue was honored in this week's group. This is a first-time national honor for both freshmen.
Kunz (Golden, Colo.) came off the bench against Baylor and Fordham last weekend to give the Aggies four goals and two assists. The forward led the Aggies' 13-1 attack of Fordham, scoring her career-second hat trick and assisting two goals for eight points on the match. Against Baylor on Friday, Kunz netted the first goal of the match as A&M started Big 12 play with a 2-1 victory. The freshman leads the Aggie offense this season with 24 points on 10 goals and four assists. She was named the Big 12 Newcomer of the Week and was selected to the TopDrawerSoccer.com Team of the Week for her efforts.
Monogue (McKinney Boyd) helped the Aggies to their second-straight conference victory of the season last Friday, scoring two goals as No. 17 A&M defeated Iowa State, 3-1. The forward also assisted the game winner and is now second on the team offensively with 22 points on eight goals and six assists.
The 13th-ranked Aggies travel to Kansas and Missouri this weekend to continue conference play. The team will face Missouri on Friday at 6:30 p.m. in Columbia, and will end the weekend with a 1 p.m. matchup against Kansas in Lawrence.
