Monogue Named to TDS Team of Week

Texas A&M soccer freshman Kelley Monogue was named to the TopDrawerSoccer.com Team of the Week, the publication announced today.

COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Texas A&M soccer freshman Kelley Monogue was named to the TopDrawerSoccer.com Team of the Week, the publication announced today.

The McKinney, Texas, native netted both goals in the Aggies' 2-0 shutout of Texas Tech on Friday in Lubbock. Monogue's goals were both scored against gusting winds and three-time 2011 Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week Victoria Esson, who spent all 90 minute in goal.

This is the second national honor for the freshman forward, and her first weekly award from TopDrawerSoccer.com.

Monogue now leads the Big 12 in several categories, posting league-best numbers in points (28), points per game (1.87), goals (11) and goals per game (0.73). As a team, A&M ranks second in the conference and leads the Big 12 in shots (327), points (168), goals (52), goals per game (3.47), assists (64) and assists per game (4.27).

The Red Raiders have recorded 10 shutout victories in their 14 games this season, but Monogue and the A&M offense were able to elude the Texas Tech defense for a shutout of their own. The Aggies allowed no shots on goal by the Red Raiders throughout the entire match.

The Aggies return to the home pitch Friday, hosting Drake in a 6:30 p.m. match at Ellis Field. Live stats, audio and video of the game will be featured on AggieAthletics.com. To learn more about Texas A&M soccer, log on to AggieAthletics.com.
