New York, NY - The defending national champion Texas A&M women's basketball coach Gary Blair appears at the 17th Annual Jimmy V Basketball Classic New York Dinner Auction on Thursday, Oct. 13, at PIER SIXTY at New York City's Chelsea Piers.
The dinner and auction is held by the V Foundation for Cancer Research, one of the nation's leading cancer research fundraising organizations. Net proceeds from the auction benefit The V Foundation and represent the charitable portion of the Jimmy V Basketball Classics to be played on December 6.
Blair, one of the winningest coaches in the women's game today, joins the coaches from the Jimmy V Basketball Classics at the event including Marquette's Buzz Williams, Missouri's Frank Haith, Villanova's Jay Wright, Washington's Lorenzo Romar and Connecticut's Geno Auriemma. St. John's head men's basketball coach, Steve Lavin, and ESPN college basketball analysts Bill Raftery and Dereck Whittenburg host as event co-chairmen. The event includes a cocktail hour, sponsored by Robert Mondavi winery, a silent auction, dinner and a program. New York area collegiate coaches are also invited to attend.Â
The Aggies travel to Connecticut on December 6 for a 6 p.m. (CT) tipoff on ESPN2 as part of the Jimmy V Women's Basketball Classic.
