No. 2 Aggies Head to New Mexico State

Kori Pickett leads the hunter seat team into action this weekend in Las Cruces.

COLLEGE STATION, Texas-The No. 2-ranked Texas A&M equestrian team returns to the road this weekend when the Aggies head to Las Cruces to battle 10th-ranked New Mexico State.  Show time is 9 a.m. (MT) at the New Mexico State Equestrian Center.

A&M is a perfect 3-0 on the young season, and the strong start earned the Aggies the No. 2 spot in the first edition of the Women's Intercollegiate Equestrian Coaches Poll, released earlier this week. Victories over Delaware State, No. 8 Fresno State and most recently No. 4 Georgia in A&M's home opener fueled the poll recognition.

NMSU, meanwhile, is 1-1 on the year. The Aggies cruised past West Texas A&M in their only home show of the season but dropped their road opener at Fresno State last Saturday.

Texas A&M has won all four meetings between the schools, including a record-setting 18-2 victory two seasons ago at the Brazos County Expo Complex. A&M's only previous trip to Las Cruces came on March 13, 2009 and resulted in a 15-5 win.

Scoring updates throughout the show will be provided through the team's official twitter feed at twitter.com/AggieEquestrian and will also be available on aggieathletics.com.
