GUADALAJARA, Mexico --- Texas A&M sophomore Lili Ibanez continued her strong swimming at the 2011 Pan American Games with a fourth-place finish in the 200-meter freestyle.
Competing at the Pan American Games in her home country of Mexico, Ibanez touched fourth in a time of 2:02.90 in the championship final. Earlier in the day, Ibanez had the second-fastest qualifying time with a 2:01.15 clocking.
Previously, Ibanez split an anchor leg time of 55.60 on Mexico's 400-meter freestyle relay that placed sixth in a time of 3:49.87, while her Texas A&M senior teammate senior Rita Medrano, also representing Mexico, took fifth in the 100-meter butterfly with a time of 1:00.75. Former A&M swimmer Alia Atkinson, representing Jamaica, took seventh in the race with a Jamaican national record time of 1:01.17.
