The Texas A&M Men's tennis team saw yet another successful day of play on the courts at the George P. Mitchell tennis center. In the singles draw, the Aggies will see four men advance on to the Quarterfinals and in doubles action, two partnerships will continue to the semifinals.

College Station, TEXAS - The Texas A&M Men's tennis team saw yet another successful day of play on the courts at the George P. Mitchell tennis center. In the singles draw, the Aggies will see four men advance on to the Quarterfinals and in doubles action, two partnerships will continue to the semifinals.

Colin Hoover will face No. 1 seed Gonzalo Escobar (Tech) after defeating TCU's Superlando (9) 6-2, 6-1 in the round of 32 and (5) Daniel Whitehead of UT 6-3, 7-6(1) in the round of 16. Alberto Bautista will also see action in the quarterfinals against (4) Mate Zsiga after defeating UT's David Holiner 6-4, 6-4 in the round of 32 and TCU's JT Sundling 6-4, 7-6(5) in the round of 16. Jeff Efferding (9) made it through the round of 32 and 16, beating SMU's Mason Herrell 6-1, 6-4 and TCU Chappell 6-3, 6-3 and will face teammate Jackson Withrow. Withrow won against Ben Chen (9) of UT in the round of 32, 6-4, 6-3 and then Harry Fowler (2) of Rice in the round of 16, 6-1, 6-4.

In doubles action, Alberto Bautista and Jackson Withrow won their round of 16, defeating Lewis and Sitaram of UT 8-5 before continuing on to defeat No. 3 seed team of Garcia and Wanderley (Tech), 8-5.  Alexis Klegou and Junior Ore (4) have advanced on to the semifinals, claiming victories against Jordao and Tave (A&M CC), 8-2 and Hess-Olsen and Hilliard (UT), 8-3. Jeremy Efferding and Colin Hoover also passed through the round of 16, clenching their doubles match against Fowler and Nuesslin (Rice) 8-6 but fell short in the quarterfinals to Camillone and Holiner (UT), 8-3.

Singles play will begin at 9 a.m. and doubles will resume at 3:30 p.m. Admission is free. The champions of the USTA/ITA Texas Regional, along with winners from the other 11 regions across the United States, advance to the prestigious USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships. That event is Nov. 3-6 at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing, New York.
