The tournament, to be held Nov. 3-6, features the nation's top collegiate players competing at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing, N.Y., and represents the culmination of the fall season.
Sanchez-Quintanar (Campo de Criptana, Spain), a junior who is in her first season at A&M after transferring from the University of Maryland, is 11-2 this fall and has advanced to the finals at two of the three tournaments she has competed in thus far. Most recently, Sanchez-Quintanar rode an 11-match winning streak into the finals at the USTA/ITA Texas Regional Championships before falling to Baylor's Diana Nakic, who received an automatic berth into the national indoors by winning the regional.
"Being selected for a national caliber tournament reflects the level of play and skill that Cristina has," A&M coach Howard Joffe said. "Most impressively, the results she has also speak to her ability to have made a seamless transition to school and tennis at Texas A&M."
While Sanchez-Quintanar wraps up the fall season in New York, her Aggie teammates will conclude the fall schedule at the UNC Kitty Harrison Invitational in Chapel Hill, N.C., Nov. 4-6.
