No. 2 A&M Tops TCU, 12-7

Aggies make it 19 in a row at home, improve to 5-0.

BRYAN, Texas-The second-ranked Texas A&M equestrian team ran its home win streak to a school-record 19 shows with a 12-7 win over TCU Friday afternoon at the Brazos County Expo Complex.

The Aggies improved to 5-0 on the year, grabbing victories on both the hunter seat and western sides. The Horned Frogs, meanwhile, fell to 0-6.

The hunter seat team split 10 rides against TCU, but claimed their third overall victory of the year on raw score.  Over fences, junior All-American Emily Williams earned her second MVP of the year following an 83-74 victory over the Horned Frogs' Alicia Turner. A pair of senior fences teammates, Maggie Earle and All-American Lia Chafee, picked up wins after 73-point and 80-point rides, respectively.

On the flat, senior Hannah Soibelman topped Caitiln Ader 69-62 and junior Kristin Bell downed Haley Jacobi 69-57 to rack up the hunt seat team's final two points of the afternoon.

The western team kept its perfect season intact with a 7-2 overall victory. In horsemanship, All-Americans Carey Nowacek, Katie Lisabeth and Kelsey Adams each defeated their opponents, with Nowacek earning her fifth victory in as many tries this season.

The reiners were one point away from a clean sweep, as seniors Abigail Grabein and Courtney Dawe, along with sophomore Lindsey Bernbaum, joined MVP and junior Emma Myers in the winner's circle.

The 5-0 start for the Aggies is their fourth in six seasons under the varsity equestrian umbrella.

Texas A&M returns to action next Saturday afternoon when the Aggies host rival and fifth-ranked Oklahoma State in a Big 12 showdown. Action gets underway at 2 p.m. at the Expo Complex and admission is free.
