No. 10 Aggies Host Rice Owls

The No. 10-ranked Texas A&M women's swimming and diving team will close out its fall schedule with 1:30 dual meet against the Rice Owls on Saturday at the Rec.

COLLEGE STATION, Texas- The No. 10-ranked Texas A&M women's swimming and diving team will close out its fall schedule with 2 p.m. dual meet against the Rice Owls on Saturday at the Student Recreation Natatorium.

The Aggies' dual against the Owls will take place between the morning and evening sessions of the Gulf Senior Championships, with the start of the meet tentatively kicking off at 2 p.m. Fans can follow the action via the live video stream on AggieAthletics.com.

The Aggies are coming off a strong effort at the Tennessee Invitational that saw A&M earn 40 NCAA qualifying cuts. The Aggies' strong performance also produced the Big 12 Swimmer and Diver of the Week winners in junior Maureen McLaine and senior Jaele Patrick, respectively.

McLaine, from Plano, Texas, posted a victory in the 1,650-yard freestyle at the Tennessee Invitational, breaking the Big 12 record in the 1,000 free and the 1,650 in the process. McLaine became Texas A&M's first female to break the 16-minute barrier in the race, touching the wall in 15:56.15 and finishing the first 1,000 in 9:38.95.
 
Patrick, from Lilydale, Victoria, Australia, ran her season record to a perfect 6-for-6 with two more wins at UT. Patrick won the one-meter dive with a score of 316.85 and took the three-meter board in 385.50. Previously, Patrick had swept the one- and three-meter boards in duals against Missouri and Texas.
