COLLEGE STATION, Texas - A trio of Texas A&M baseball players were honored Tuesday with selections as Louisville Slugger TPX 2012 Preseason All-Americans, selected by Collegiate Baseball magazine. Outfielder Tyler Naquin represented the Aggies on the first team while pitchers Ross Stripling and Michael Wacha garnered second team recognition.
Both Naquin and Stripling have already received Preseason All-America honors prior to the first pitch of the upcoming 2012 season as each were named to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association's Preseason All-America First Team.
All three players are coming off outstanding 2011 campaigns for the Maroon & White which saw each of them garner All-America accolades from at least one media outlet.
Additionally, as a team Texas A&M was selected as one of the favorites to make a return trip to Omaha, Neb., and the College World Series as the Aggies claimed the No. 6 spot in Collegiate Baseball's Preseason Top 40 Poll.
Texas A&M baseball will begin its 2012 campaign Feb. 17-19 by hosting Illinois-Chicago in a three-game series on Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park.
