Three members of the Texas A&M men's and women's swimming and diving teams earned Big 12 accolades Wednesday after a few exciting weeks of Aggie swimming and diving.Â
Senior men's diver Grant Nel grabbed his second Big 12 Diver of the Week Award of the 2011-2012 season after a spair of wins in the Aggies' dual meet versus LSU on Jan. 21. Nel took both boards against the Tigers with a season high 410.05 on the 1-meter springboard and a 416.25 on the 3-meter board.Â
Senior women's diver Jaele Patrick is making her third appearance this season as Big 12 Diver of the Week, as she swept both the 1 and 3-meter springboards in back to back dual meets for the Aggies. Against SMU on Jan. 12, Patrick posted a season-high 344.65 on the 1-meter and a 371.10 on the 3-meter.Â
She duplicated her performance against LSU on Jan. 21 with a pair of individual wins in the 1-(332.35) and 3-meter (369.50) boards as well.Â
Sophomore women's swimmer Cammile Adams had a very productive few weeks to deserve her first career Big 12 Swimmer of the Week award.Â
Adams kicked off her week with a hat trick in A&M's dual meet versus SMU on Jan. 12 in College Station. The second-year Aggie took the top spots in the 200-yard freestyle (1:57.10), the 500-yard freestyle (4:47.36) and the 400-yard individual medley (4:16.09).Â
Adams made her biggest impact at the three-day Austin Grand Prix from Jan. 13-15 when she took a pair of individual wins against some of the world's best talent and even former Olympians. Adams took first in the 400-meter individual medley, beating out former USA Olympian Katie Hoff with a time of 4:38.08. She also won the 200-meter fly with a time of 2:06.76.Â
Senior Texas Longhorns men's swimmer Jackson Wilcox was the only non-Aggie to take a Big 12 Swimmer/Diver of the Week award.Â
