The Texas A&M women's swimming and diving team moved up five spots in the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) poll today when the Aggies moved from No. 11 nationally to No. 6.
The ranking stems off of the Aggies' dual meet victories over SMU and LSU on Jan. 12 and 21, respectively. A&M also had some of its swimmers compete in the three-day Austin Grand Prix in Austin from Jan. 13-15, in which many of the Aggies shined against some of the world's top competition.
Sophomore swimmer Cammile Adams was a big part in the Aggies' success, as she posted a triplet of wins against SMU and another pair of victories at the Austin Grand Prix. Her performances earned her a career-first Big 12 Swimmer of the Week, as announced Wednesday.
Senior diver Jaele Patrick led the Aggies on the boards over that stretch, going undefeated at SMU and LSU in the 1-meter and 30meter springboard events. Her efforts earned her Big 12 Diver of the Week honors as well on Wednesday.
The Aggies' next action is on Feb. 3, when they travel to the Houston to compete against the Cougars in dual meet competition.
