INSIDE THE SERIES

  • Texas Tech leads 54-17 in the all-time series with Texas A&M and has won three of the last four matchups.

LADY RAIDERS REWIND

  • Danielle Adams scored 20 of her 30 points in the first half and had a career-high-tying 13 rebounds to lead No. 5 Texas A&M to an 84-60 win over Texas Tech. Texas A&M (23-3, 11-2 Big 12) was up by eight at halftime and used a 16-4 run to open the second half and stretch the lead to 52-32 with about 15 minutes left. Texas Tech had trouble dealing with the physical play of Adams, who had 10 rebounds to go with her 20 points at halftime.The loss breaks a three-game winning streak for Texas Tech (19-8, 6-7). Chynna Brown had 15 points and Teena Wickett added 11 for the Lady Raiders. Adams got her first career first-half double-double in the win and Tyra White added 20 points for Texas A&M. The 24-point loss is Texas Tech's most lopsided defeat of the season. They allowed the Aggies to shoot better than 55 percent and Texas A&M's 84 points were the most they've allowed all season. Texas A&M was also helped by a season-high 89.5 percent free throw shooting (17 of 19). Colson finished with 10 points, five assists and three steals.

STANDISH STEPPING UP

Freshman Alexia Standish earned her first career start on Jan. 8 against Oklahoma and now leads the Big 12 with a 3.0 assist-to-turnover ratio in conference games. She has bettered that over the last six contests with a 4.75 ratio (19-4). In three of those six games (Texas, at Kansas and Iowa State), she has not committed a single turnover, while dishing out 14 assists.

ADAORA IN THE LAST FIVE

Senior forward Adaora Elonu has led the Aggies over its last five games with 14.8 points and 6.8 rebounds per game. She has shot 57.4 percent from the floor over that stretch and is 20-of-24 (83.3 percent) from the free throw line.

BLAIR REACHES 200-WIN MILESTONE

  • Gary Blair recently reached his 600th career win as a Division I head coach and on Jan. 18, he achieved another coaching milestone with his 200th victory as head coach of the Fightin' Texas Aggies.
  • Blair is already the all-time winningest coach in program history with 201 wins and a .708 winning percentage (202-84). He surpassed former head coach Lynn Hickey, who compiled 154 career victories from 1984-1994, with an 84-53 win over Portland State in the NCAA First Round on March 20, 2010 in Seattle, Wash.
