Soccer to Host NSCAA College Game of the Week

The Texas A&M soccer team will host the National Soccer Coaches Association of America College Game of the Week vs. Long Beach State on Friday, Sept. 7 at Ellis Field, the NSCAA announced.

COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The Texas A&M soccer team will host the National Soccer Coaches Association of America College Game of the Week vs. Long Beach State on Friday, Sept. 7 at Ellis Field, the NSCAA announced.

The 7 p.m. game against the 49ers will be broadcast on FOX Soccer, ensuring that fans with access to the soccer destination channel can watch the match nationwide.

NSCAA College Game of the Week was founded in 2005 and showcases the top matches from around the country, making NCAA Division I men's and women's soccer the highlight of the Friday night FOX Soccer lineup for the past seven seasons.

Long Beach State advanced to a program-first NCAA Elite Eight appearance in 2011 after a second straight Big West Tournament championship. The 49ers recently joined the Aggies on Top Drawer Soccer's list of Five Teams to Watch in 2012.

The No. 12 A&M soccer team (RPI final) advanced to a 17th NCAA postseason in 2011 after securing a 12th-and-final Big 12 Championship in the last year in the conference.
