Aggie Soccer Ranked 14th in NSCAA Preseason Poll

The Texas A&M soccer team earned a No. 14 preseason ranking in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)/Continental Tire Top 25 poll, the outlet announced.

COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The Texas A&M soccer team earned a No. 14 preseason ranking in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)/Continental Tire Top 25 poll, the outlet announced.

The Aggies, who joined the Southeastern Conference (SEC) on July 1, received the highest ranking of any team in the conference and are tied for 14th with Memphis. Florida tops out at No. 21, and is followed by No. 24 South Carolina and No. 25 Auburn in the SEC. LSU, Tennessee and Kentucky are receiving votes.

Of the Aggies' 2012 opponents, Long Beach State owns a No. 18 ranking and San Diego is receiving votes. A&M will host LBSU on FOX Soccer in the NSCAA College Game of the Week on Sept. 7 at Ellis Field. The Aggies travel to San Diego on Aug. 22 for their second match of the season.

A&M has spent 17 consecutive seasons in the preseason top 15 and has been a mainstay in national top 25 polls each season.
