Peck Earns Spot on Top 50 Players to Watch List

Texas A&M senior Cameron Peck has been named by Golf World as one of the Top 50 Male Players to Watch in its 2012-13 College Preview.

COLLEGE STATION - Texas A&M senior Cameron Peck has been named by Golf World as one of the Top 50 Male Players to Watch in its 2012-13 College Preview.

As a junior a year ago, Peck was an honorable-mention selection to the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) All-American Team for the third season in a row. The accomplishment placed him alongside PGA Tour alums David Ogrin (1977-1979) and Danny Briggs (1981-1983) as the only other three-time All-Americans in A&M program history.

Nominated by his teammates as Texas A&M Men's Golf Most Valuable Player, Peck led the team last year with a 72.06 stroke average. He posted eight top-20 and five top-10 finishes on the way to earning All-Big 12 and PING All-Central Region honors. Peck also had five of the team's eight lowest rounds the 2011-12 season with a score of 67 or lower.

Although his season was cut short due to a back injury, which prevented him from participating in the postseason, Peck finished 2011-12 with a 10-over 226 at the Aggie Invitational at Traditions Club to finish 15th. He success helped lift the Big 12 Champion Aggies into the postseason, where they went on to post a fifth-straight top-15 finish; one of only two schools nationally to do so.

After starting the 2012-13 season at Pebble Beach last weekend, Peck as the rest of his Aggie golf teammates are back in action Sept. 17-18, when they take part in the Husky Invitational in Bremerton, Wash.
