COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The Texas A&M University Athletic Department announced today season ticket pricing for the 2012 football season. The 2012 season marks the inaugural season in the Southeastern Conference (SEC) for the Aggies. The six-game home schedule is highlighted by games against new conference foes Florida (Sept. 8), Arkansas (Sept. 29), LSU (Oct. 20) and Missouri (Nov. 24).
Season ticket pricing for the 2012 season will be $225 for TAMU student seating, $450 for bench seating, $485 for armchair seating and $520 for club and suite level seating. The season ticket pricing structure brings the average season ticket for Kyle Field to $360.
No discount season pricing will be offered at the present time. Implementation of visiting team allotments and SEC rules for student seating have precipitated the elimination of these programs. 2011 discount season ticket holders will be given priority to upgrade to full-price tickets in 2012.
"We appreciate the commitment of season ticket holders and the 12th Man Foundation members who annually support our athletic department and football program" said Director of Athletics Bill Byrne. "As we head into the SEC, we are faced with new challenges on the playing field as well as off the field. The increase in ticket prices for Aggie Football reflects these challenges. Our donors and fans are crucial to our success at Kyle Field and we value and thank you for investing in our program."
Student season tickets for the 2012 season will be $225 for the student football pass and $350 for an all sports pass. In 2011, student season ticket numbers reached 30,000 and the anticipated demand is forecasted to be the same, if not higher. "We have the largest student section in all of college football and the 12th Man is a big reason why Kyle Field is one of the most intimidating venues nationwide" said Byrne. "There will be no reduction in season tickets available to our students but in order to keep the tradition of the largest student section in the nation alive, we rely on the support of former students and fans through the purchase of full price season tickets to make this a reality."
"The 2012 football home schedule is going to be one of the most exciting in the history of Texas A&M," added Byrne. "We open the SEC era with Florida coming to Aggieland, then you follow that up with visits from SEC foes Arkansas, LSU and Missouri, you don't want to miss this. The 2012 season is going to be one of the most memorable ever and we are looking forward to putting our best foot forward for the nation to see."
The 12th Man Foundation will distribute membership renewal packets to donors as soon as possible. Donors will be notified via email once their renewal packet has been sent. Annual pledges for priority seating and season ticket renewals will be due May 1st with all pledge and ticket payments due by June 1st.
In 2011, Texas A&M shattered attendance records at Kyle Field. For the first time ever, all games at Kyle Field were sold out. Five of the top ten overall attendances at Kyle Field are from the 2011 season. With an average attendance of 87,183 during the 2011 season, Texas A&M ranked 10th nationally and the SEC had 6 of the top 10 nationally.
Season ticket information will be sent to all 2011 season ticket holders in early March. Individuals on the waiting list for season tickets will also receive season ticket information in early March.
