
Aggies Shine at Pro Day

COLLEGE STATION -- Twelve members of the 2011 Texas A&M football team stated their cases for a shot at the NFL at the Aggies' annual Pro Day on Wednesday at the McFerrin Indoor Facility.
Participating in the Texas A&M Pro Day were 2011 seniors Ben Bass, Eddie Brown, Randy Bullock, Terrence Frederick, Jeff Fuller, Cyrus Gray, Trent Hunter, Tony Jerod-Eddie, Coryell Judie, Taylor Randle, Lionel Smith and Garrick Williams. Quarterback Ryan Tannehill, a projected first-round NFL draft pick, will work out for the NFL scouts later this month.
Cornerbacks Smith and Frederick impressed in the 40-yard dash with Smith posting the day's fastest time in 4.41 seconds and Frederick being clocked in 4.42.
Smith also led Pro Day in three other drills: vertical jump (38 inches), 20-yard shuttle (4.20) and broad jump (10 feet, 7 inches).
Record-setting wide receiver Fuller, who was not scheduled to participate due to a foot injury, was impressive with a 36-inch vertical jump, 10-foot broad jump and a time of 4.53 in the 40-yard dash.
Defensive lineman Brown led the way in the bench press with 33 repetitions of 225 pounds to the delight of the onlookers in the McFerrin Center. Former A&M reserve Michael Ebbitt, who finished his career at Texas State in 2011, had 31 reps, while Jerod-Eddie had 29.
Hunter put his athleticism on display with best times in the L-drill and the long shuttle. Hunter finished the three-cone L-drill in 6.86 seconds and the long shuttle in 11.27. Smith and Randle were next fastest in the L-Drill in 7.06 while Judie turned in a 7.14. Gray was right behind Hunter in the long shuttle with a time of 11.31.
