Larson Tallies Second National Championship

Larson, from Mesa, Ariz., chased down fellow 2012 Olympian and world record holder Jessica Hardy to grab the win in a time of 1:06.16.

INDIANAPOLIS --- Texas A&M junior Breeja Larson tallied her second national title of the 2013 Phillips 66 National Championships and World Championships Trials with a win in the 100-meter breaststroke on Friday at the IUPUI Natatorium.

Larson, from Mesa, Ariz., chased down fellow 2012 Olympian and world record holder Jessica Hardy to grab the win in a time of 1:06.16. Hardy held a narrow lead at the 50-meter mark, but Larson's back-half 50 time of 35.22 gave her the .33-second victory.

Larson finishes her 2013 U.S. Nationals with wins in the 100- and 200-meter breaststroke and a runner-up effort in the 50 breast. She qualified to represent Team USA in all three races at the FINA World Championships July 15-Aug. 4 in Barcelona, Spain.
