COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The Texas A&M men's and women's swimming and diving teams will host the Art Adamson Invitational from Nov. 21-23 at the Texas A&M Student Recreation Natatorium.
Named after legendary 35-year head coach Art Adamson, the three-day meet will feature teams from six different universities and will include three nationally ranked programs. The traditional fall invitational meet was renamed the Art Adamson Invitational in 2006 to honor the longest serving head coach in A&M athletics history, whose tenure lasted from 1934-1969. The Art Adamson Invitational was last contested in 2008.
The A&M men's team will face SMU, LSU, TCU, Air Force, and a diving squad from No. 5 Stanford. This will be the team's third competition of the season and the last meet of the fall semester.
The No. 4 Aggie women enter the meet with a 3-0 dual meet record and will face No. 7 Stanford, SMU, LSU, TCU, and a diving squad from Air Force. The Aggies already have two conference victories this season against Vanderbilt and Missouri and a non-conference victory over in-state rival No. 6 Texas.
Preliminary sessions will begin at 10 a.m. on Thursday and Friday and 9:30 a.m. on Saturday. Finals will begin at 6 p.m. on Thursday and Friday and at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Admission is free and live results and live video stream are available at AggieAthletics.com.
