COLLEGE STATION – As part of its fall training period, the Texas A&M track and field team will have an intra-squad pentathlon starting at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 26, in the Gilliam Indoor Track Stadium. The event is free and open to the public with parking available in Lot 62 near Kyle Field.
The Aggie men's and women's squads will be split into three groups as the sprinters, jumpers and throwers compete against one other.
There will be five events contested. They include a 30-meter dash, standing long jump, and standing triple jump. In addition a pair of two-handed shot put toss events are included – one between-legs-forward and another over-head-back. Times and distances achieved in each event are awarded point values to comprise individual and group scores.
Following the pentathlon, the Aggies will host the Texas A&M Reveille Invitational on Saturday, Dec. 7, This will be a 12-event indoor track and field meet which includes Houston, TCU and UT-San Antonio.
