
Claiborne selected to SEC All-Freshman Team

BIRMINGHAM – Texas A&M linebacker Darian Claiborne was named to the Southeastern Conference All-Freshman Team, the league office announced today.
The Port Allen, La., native was the only Aggie on the list, voted on by the SEC's 14 head coaches, who were not able to vote for their own players.
Claiborne led the Texas A&M defense this season with 89 total tackles and 29 solo stops, including a team-best seven tackles for loss. His 89 hits rank seventh in the SEC and No. 1 among league freshmen.
Arkansas, Ole Miss and South Carolina each placed a league-leading four members on the 2013 SEC All-Freshman Team , while Florida had three members. Ole Miss wide receiver Laquon Treadwell on Wednesday was named the SEC's Freshman of the Year. Florida defensive back Vernon Hargreaves on Tuesday was named to the All-SEC First Team.
