Texas A&M Freshman Defeats 12th-Ranked Player in the World

Rutuja Bhosale, who will be a freshman on the Texas A&M women's tennis team this fall, has advanced to the quarterfinals at the Asian Youth Games after knocking off No. 1 seed Ching-Win Hsu, who is currently No. 12 in the International Tennis Federation junior world rankings and was No. 6 in the world earlier this year.
Bhosale, from India, breezed to a 6-0, 6-0 first-round win against Olla Mourad of Qatar, to set up the contest against Hsu, representing Chinese Taipei. Bhosale won the match, 6-2, 2-6, 6-4, to advance.
Bhosale will take on No. 5 seed Yan Wang of China in the quarterfinals on Wednesday. Wang is ranked No. 86 in the world.
