COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Texas A&M Soccer kicks off its spring schedule on Saturday with a 7 pm Maroon and White Match at Ellis Field.
The contest is free for spectators and will feature three 20-minute periods. This will be the first opportunity for fans to see newcomers Haley Pounds and Stephanie Malherbe in action.
Texas A&M returns 18 letterwinners from the 2013 campaign, including 10 of 11 starters. The returnees account for 54 of the Aggies' 56 goals from last season. Texas A&M welcomes back All-Americans Shea Groom and Meghan Streight, along with fellow All-SEC performers Jordan Day, Leigh Edwards and Kelley Monogue.
The Maroon and White finished the 2013 season ranked No. 8 in the NSCAA Coaches Poll. A&M posted an 18-5-2 record for the year, claimed their first-ever SEC regular-season title with a 9-2-0 league ledger and captured an SEC Tournament crown. The Aggies appeared in their 19th consecutive NCAA Division I Championship, advanced to the Second Round for the 16th consecutive year and appeared in the Sweet 16 for the 12th time in program history.
