Three Aggies reach 1m dive final at Zones

A trio of Texas A&M divers advanced to the one-meter final to highlight the Aggies' second day at the NCAA Zone D Diving Championships on Tuesday at the University of Minnesota.

MINNEAPOLIS --- A trio of Texas A&M divers advanced to the one-meter final to highlight the Aggies' second day at the NCAA Zone D Diving Championships on Tuesday at the University of Minnesota.

Junior Ford McLiney, the 2014 Southeastern Conference Diver of the Meet, led the way with a ninth place finish with a 12-dive score of 727.30. Also, also advancing to the final from the original field of 38 divers were senior Adam Ruiz and freshman Zachary Stockton. Ruiz, from Lubbock, Texas, placed 13th with a score of 682.80 and Stockton, from Houston, Texas, placed 17th with a 631.75 score. Diving well but missing the final was freshman Colton Haffey, from The Woodlands, Texas, who finished 20th with a score of 313.10.

In the women's competition, Aggie freshman Zoe Alaniz, from Corpus Christi, narrowly missed advancing from the field of 47 to the top 18 final with a 20th place finish in 275.95. Senior Jessica Macaulay, from The Woodlands, Texas, placed 26th with a score of 268.05.
