COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- Texas A&M's week 3 home matchup with the Rice Owls will kick-off at 8 p.m. (CT) on Saturday, Sept. 13 and be televised nationally on ESPN2, ESPN and the Southeastern Conference announced on Friday. The SEC also announced all the football games that will be televised by ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU and Fox Sports Net for the first three weeks of 2014.
With the announcement, the start times for the Aggies' first three games of 2014 are set. Texas A&M's first two games will be televised nationally by the SEC Network: at South Carolina with a 5 p.m. kick on Thursday, Aug. 28 and vs. Lamar at Kyle Field with a 6:30 p.m. start on Saturday, Sept. 6.
The Aggies and Owls, longtime rivals in the old Southwest Conference, will be facing off at Kyle Field for a second straight season. Last year's 52-31 Texas A&M victory was the 2013 season opener for both teams. The Aggies went on to finish 9-4 with a victory over Duke in the Chick-fil-A Bowl, while the Owls went on win the Conference USA championship while posting a 10-4 overall record.
The Aggies return an impressive 54 lettermen from last year's squad, including five offensive starters and nine defensive starters. Rice returns six starters on both offense and defense and 43 total letterwinners from 2013.
