COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Former volunteer assistant Caroline Cramer has been promoted to assistant coach for hunter seat, Texas A&M head coach Tana McKay announced today.
Cramer joined the Aggies as a volunteer for the 2013-14 season and will be in charge of the hunt seat squad – coaching the equitation on the flat and equitation over fences teams, effective immediately.
“I am excited to add Caroline to our full-time staff,” McKay said. “As a competitor, Caroline had a very successful career competing in USEF (United States Equestrian Federation) shows at the 'AA' level and has worked with a number of the industry's top trainers. She also went on to have a very accomplished career as a collegiate athlete. Recently, Caroline has gained some great coaching experience and has proven herself to be a very effective coach. With her riding abilities, her industry knowledge and her NCEA (National Collegiate Equestrian Association) experience, I know Caroline will make an immediate impact on this team.”
A graduate of The University of Tennessee at Martin, Cramer began her coaching career with the Skyhawks as a fifth-year volunteer coach during the 2012-13 season. As a student-athlete at UTM, she competed in both hunt seat events, compiling an impressive 25-7 record on the flat and a 21-10 mark over fences, along with 20 Most Outstanding Player (MOP) awards.
Cramer completed her undergraduate degree in Wildlife Biology at UTM in 2013, and is currently working on a master's of agriculture in animal science with a focus in equine science at Texas A&M. She is the daughter of Pam and Reece Cramer of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.
The Aggies will begin the 2014-15 season at home against Cramer's alma mater, hosting the Skyhawks at the Thomas G. Hildebrand DVM '56 Equine Complex on Sept. 25. To learn more about Texas A&M equestrian, log on to AggieAthletics.com and follow @AggieEquestrian on Twitter.
