Texas A&M will be represented by 10 swimmers at the 2014 Phillips 66 USA Swimming National Championships in Irvine, Calif. There, the Aggies will be competing not only for national titles but also for spots on Team USA.
Representing the Aggies will be Cammile Adams (class of 2014) from Cypress, Texas, freshman Brock Bonetti of Bakersfield, Calif., senior Sammie Bosma of Marietta, Ga., freshman Lisa Bratton of Richland, Wash., freshman Bethany Galat of Mishawaka, Ind., sophomore Sarah Gibson of San Antonio, Texas, senior Sarah Henry of Garner, N.C., junior Colleen Konetzke of San Antonio, Texas, Breeja Larson (class of 2014) from Mesa, Ariz., and senior Emily Neubert of Waco, Texas.
Twenty-six competitors of each gender from this meet will be selected for a position on Team USA. Team members will be announced throughout the duration of the meet. The winner of each Olympic event will claim an automatic spot on the team. Those who do earn a position will travel to Gold Coast, Australia to compete for the United States in the Pan-Pacific Championships. Already qualified for Pan-Pacific Championships is Kyle Troskot (class of 2014) who will be competing for Team Canada and sophomore Franko Jonker who will be competing for Team South Africa.
The National Championship meet will take place August 6-10.
