BRYAN- Texas A&M's women's golf team is tied for sixth in the 2014 “Mo”Morial after one round, shooting a 303 (+15) on Monday.
"We had a very young lineup today, with four sophomores and a freshman," said Texas A&M Head Coach Trelle McCombs. "I'm really proud of how Bianca Fabrizio carried herself today," added McCombs. "She's made great strides since last spring, she really worked hard this summer and got her confidence back."
The Aggies were led by sophomore Bianca Fabrizio, who shot a 74 (+2) and is tied for 13th among all players. Maddie Szeryk and Callie Scheffler both shot a 76 (+4) and are tied for 26th in the tournament.
Andrea Jonama and Thanya Pattamakijsak sit one stroke behind Szeryk and Scheffler, each with a 77 (+5) and are tied for 34th.
Emily Fuchs (83), Ashley Malinchak (90) and Kirby Kramer (95) also competed as individuals.
Auburn leads the tournament after one day with a 291 (+3). Florida State's Kayla Jones leads all individuals after shooting a 69 (-3).
The “Mo”Morial continues on Tuesday at Traditions Club in Bryan. Texas A&M tees off at Hole No. 1 starting at 8 a.m.
