Cook Places among top 10 at Pair of Major Summer Shows

Texas A&M equestrian freshman Bailey Cook placed in the top 10 at two major shows this summer as she prepared to join the Aggie horsemanship squad.

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Texas A&M equestrian freshman Bailey Cook placed in the top 10 at two major shows this summer as she prepared to join the Aggie horsemanship squad.

Riding against 160 of the nation's top youth athletes, Cook took ninth place in trail at the American Quarter Horse Youth Association (AQHYA) World Championship Show in August in Oklahoma City. A week later, the Aggie rookie finished third in Youth Trail at the National Snaffle Bit Association (NSBA) World Show in Tulsa.

The Fort Collins, Colo., native scored a 218 on her horse Good For The Ladys, just 13.5 points behind first place. Cook was also the second place intermediate exhibitor at the show, and edged Aggie teammate Avery Ellis – the 13th-place trail rider – in the event.

Cook begins her career at Texas A&M this fall as the Aggies host UT Martin in the first meet of the season on Sept. 25. To learn more about Texas A&M equestrian, log on to 12thMan.com and follow @AggieEquestrian on Twitter.
