COLLEGE STATION – Four Texas A&M men's tennis players are set to take place in the ITA Pre-Qualifying as part of the first men's national title of the fall season at the 2014 Saint Francis Health System ITA Men's All-American Championships. For the 10th straight year, the University of Tulsa will host the Saint Francis Health System ITA Men's All-American Championships at the state-of-the-art Michael D. Case Tennis Center.
Prequalifying matches are set to begin on Sept. 27 with qualifying matches following on Sept. 29. A field of 64 singles players and 32 doubles teams will then compete in the main draw on Oct. 2.
Freshman AJ Catanzariti will be the first Aggie in action in the Sooner state, taking on Sergio de Vilchez of Wichita State. An hour later, senior Jordan Szabo will face Guillermo de Vilchez, also of Wichita State. At 12:30 p.m. sophomore Frankie Colunga will faceoff with Alberto Reyes of Oregon. Fellow sophomore Max Lunkin will match up with Peter Bertran of Georgia.
Singles quarterfinalists, doubles finalists and consolation champions will receive an automatic entry into the USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships on Nov. 7-10, held at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows, NY.
