Strong Field Awaits Women's Golf At Schooner Fall Classic

NORMAN, Okla.- Texas A&M's women's golf team heads to Belmar Golf Club in Norman, Okla. For the Schooner Fall Classic, hosted by Oklahoma. The field features six teams that were ranked in the Golfweek Fall Countdown, including No. 19 Texas A&M.

The Aggies will tee off on the 6,082-yard, par 70 course starting at 9:10 a.m. on Saturday. Live scoring is available at BirdieFire.com here.

The 17-team field includes SEC rivals No. 6 Arkansas, No. 14 Mississippi State and No. 24 LSU, in addition to other ranked squads No. 15 UCF and hosts No. 16 Oklahoma. The field is rounded out by Baylor, Cal, Clemson, Florida State, Kent State, Notre Dame, SMU, TCU, Texas, Texas State and Texas Tech.

A&M's five-member lineup includes Thanya Pattamakijsakul, Bianca Fabrizio, Marijosse Navarro, Maddie Szeryk and Andrea Jonama. Szeryk finished third in the Aggies' season-opening event, the “Mo”Morial, shooting 213 (-3), including a school-record-tying 65, in her first collegiate tournament. Fabrizio posted her first career Top 10 finish at the “Mo”, shooting a 221 (+5). Navarro is making her first appearance of the season, after competing in the World Team Amateur Championship in September.

The Aggies finished third at the “Mo”Morial in their first tournament of the season, shooting 881 (+17). After the Schooner Fall Classic, the Aggies will take to the links again on Oct. 26-28 at the Alamo Invitational.

Skies are predicted to be sunny each day of the tournament with zero chance of rain. High temperatures are predicted to be in the mid-80s.

The Schooner Fall Classic is hosted by the Toby Keith Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization. All proceeds from the tournament will go directly to the OK Kids Korral in Oklahoma City. The Korral is a 25,000-square-foot facility that opened in Nov. 2013 and is dedicated exclusively to serve the needs of pediatric cancer patients. The cost-free home away from home facility has 16 guest suites, a gourmet kitchen, playgrounds and an indoor theatre.
