COLLEGE STATION, Texas – With hoops season right around the corner, the Texas A&M men's and women's basketball teams will host Plaza Palooza on Friday night (Oct. 10) from 10-11:30 p.m. on the northeast plaza outside Kyle Field.
The event will feature a variety of promotions aimed at getting fans of all ages excited for the upcoming season on the hardwood as well as give fans a chance to interact with players and coaches from both squads.
Additionally, the event will feature free food including pepperoni rolls, cotton candy and popcorn as well as 12th Man towel and Aggie cup give-a-ways from the Corner Store. A performance from Aggie hip-hop artist Brklyn FlyWlkr and live music will also highlight the festivities.
A basketball hoop will be set up on the plaza with fans invited to participate shooting contests as well as other activities.
Following the conclusion of Plaza Palooza, both the men's and women's teams will be introduced in front of the 12th Man at Midnight Yell Practice.
The Texas A&M women's team will host Oklahoma City in an exhibition contest at home on Nov. 8 before opening the season on the road in Chicago at the Maggie Dixon Classic Nov. 14-16. In the Windy City, the Aggies will face DePaul, New Mexico and UTPA.
Meanwhile, the Aggie men will get their final tune-up for the regular season Nov. 5 when they host Texas A&M-Commerce in an exhibition tilt. The 2014-15 campaign officially gets underway Nov. 14 when Texas A&M welcomes Northwestern State to Reed Arena.
