COLLEGE STATION- Texas A&M's annual Maroon & White Scrimmage is set for 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 25 in Reed Arena. The event features many fan-friendly events, in addition to providing a first look at the 2014-15 women's basketball squad. Admission is free.
The event is scheduled for four 10-minute periods, followed by a post-game autograph and photo session with the team, plus a Q&A with Texas A&M head coach Gary Blair. Coach Blair will provide color commentary during at least two sessions of the scrimmage, while associate head coach Kelly Bond-White and assistant coach Amy Wright coach the two sides.
Doors open at 1 p.m., when the Junior Aggie Club Fall Festival takes place outside the east entrance. The festival includes inflatables, a pizza party, pumpkin decorating, trick-or-treat bag making and other activities.
During the event, fans can enter to win great prizes on the concourse of Reed Arena, such as Adidas A&M gear, gift cards, and tickets to A&M's marquee non-conference showdown with Duke (Nov. 30).
In addition 10 Texas A&M students have been selected to take a behind-the-scenes look at the program on game day, including a tour of the facility, being introduced with the team, and prime seating during the game.
On the court, A&M features a trio of Preseason All-Americans; juniors Jordan Jones, Courtney Walker and Courtney Williams. The Aggies return 83% of their scoring from a team that went 27-9 and reached the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament in 2013-14. Texas A&M is a consensus preseason Top 10 team, and has been rated as high as third in the nation entering the season.
