COLLEGE STATION – The Texas A&M men's tennis team advanced a pair to the third day  of the USTA/ITA Texas Regional, hosted at the Mitchell Tennis Center on Texas A&M's west campus. The tournament will play through Tuesday afternoon; winners will advance to the ITA National Indoors in New York in early November.

No. 11 Harrison Adams stormed through two singles rounds Sunday, picking up wins over Peter Nagy of A&M-Corpus Christi and Srikar Alla of Rice. The tournament's number two seed advanced to face No. 106 Adrien Berkowicz of Texas Monday morning at 9 a.m.

Joining Adams in the Quarterfinals will be No. 46 Jeremy Efferding after wins against Francisco Zambon of Texas Tech and Tomas Stillman of UTSA. The senior will face number one seeded and fifth ranked Soren-Hess Olesen of Texas Monday at 9 a.m.

Junior Shane Vinsant made quick work of Hudson Blake to open play Sunday, but was not able to maintain his momentum against Antonio Lupieri of Baylor. The nation's No. 15 player ended his run in the Texas Regional in the round of 16.

Senior Jordan Szabo split a pair of singles matches Sunday, defeating No. 65 Hugo Dojas of Texas Tech in straight sets. The Aussie came up a step short in a marathon match against Will Stein of TCU, winning the first set in a tiebreaker before dropping a tiebreaker in the second set. The decisive third set went the way of the Horned Frog.

Stein advanced to face Szabo in the round of 16 after besting Texas A&M freshman AJ Catanzariti in a thrilling three set opener Sunday morning. Sophomore Max Lunkin also saw his time come to a close in the round of 32, falling to Berkowicz in a third set tie breaker.

Efferding and Szabo were late getting started in doubles action, but that did not faze the 37th ranked A&M pair. The Aggies defeated Michael Riechmann and Jacoby Lewis of Texas, before moving on to face Antonio Lupieri and Felipe Rios of Baylor. The Battle of the Brazos match-up went the way of the Bears in a tie-breaker.

No. 23 Adams and Vinsant moved into the quarterfinals of the doubles draw with a win over William Jou and John Mee of Texas late in the afternoon. The maroon and white duo ran out of steam falling to Michael Feucht and  Nikita Lis of Lamar in a match under the lights.

Catanzariti and Lunkin were eliminated from the doubles draw by Nicholas Agritelley and Guillerme Gesser of Abilene Christian.

Sophomore Frankie Colunga notched a pair of wins in the round of 64 consolation bracket. The College Station native bested William Jou of Texas and Connor Curry of Texas Tech. The sophomore will face Diego Casa of UTSA for a spot in the semifinals Monday morning at 9 a.m.

Freshman Jett Cash opened the day with a win over Guillaume Rauseo of A&M-Corpus Christi before bowing out of the bracket to Jolan Cailleau in an early afternoon match. Senior Max Montague dropped his opening match of the consolation draw to Steven McMullan of Lamar in a third set super-tiebreaker.

The USTA/ITA Regional Championships feature some of the top men's and women's players across the country. Over 8,000 student-athletes from NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA, Junior and Community Colleges compete at one of the 85 USTA/ITA Regional Championships held across the country.
