As some institutions cease their support and sponsorship of women's equestrian, Texas A&M continues to strive to be a leader in the sport. While I am extremely proud of our 11 national championships since 2002 in equestrian, I am prouder of the achievements our equestrian student-athletes make in the classroom and in our community.
A shining example of Texas A&M's commitment to women's equestrian is our state-of-the-art Thomas G. Hildebrand Equine Complex which opened last spring. I believe it offers our student-athletes an unparalleled experience while we compete in the sport's most competitive league, the SEC.
This year, Texas A&M is celebrating 40 years of women's athletics and equestrian is an important part of our history and our future in women's athletics.
