SAN ANTONIO, Texas- Two Texas A&M women's golfers remain in the top 10 after the second of three rounds of the Alamo Invitational, held at Briggs Ranch Golf Club. Marijosse Navarro sits in a tie for seventh place in the tournament at three-under-par, while Maddie Szeryk is tied for 10th at two-under for the tournament.
The Aggies shot a 294 (+6) on Monday, bringing their two-round tournament total to 577 (+1). Texas A&M sits in fifth place after two rounds of the 15-team event, trailing fourth place Florida State by two strokes. LSU leads the tournament with a 563 (-13) after two rounds.
Navarro shot an even-par 72 on Monday, and has shot par-or-better in all five rounds she has played in 2014-15. Navarro's two-day total is 141 (-3), five shots off tournament leader Caroline Nistrup (136/-8) of LSU.
Szeryk is one stroke behind Navarro with a 142 (-2) for the event, after posting a 75 (+3) in the Second Round. She had four birdies on Monday, including three consecutive on Holes 13, 14 & 15. Over the first two days of the tournament, she has played the last six holes of the par 72, 6,428 yard course at seven-under-par—with no bogeys.
Andrea Jonama shot an even-par 72 on Monday, moving into a tie for 24th in the tournament with a two-day total of 146 (+2). The round was Jonama's second par-or-better round for the season.
Thanya Pattamakijsakul is tied for 51st after two days, with a total of 150 (+6). Bianca Fabrizio, who shot a 75 (+3) on Monday, is one stroke behind her with a two-day total of 151 (+7) and is tied for 56th. Callie Scheffler, competing as an individual, has shot 157 (+13) over the first two rounds of the tournament, and sits in a tie for 67th.
The tournament's third and final round takes place on Tuesday at the Briggs Ranch Golf Club.
